[edit] The Project/Product

[edit] Project Background

Objectivity/DB is being deployed in a product that was originally Thermo Electron’s Konelab, TCAutomation and Konelab Arena products, built by Electron’s Clinical Chemistry & Automation Systems (CC&A) business unit. The CC&A business offers a wide range of automation systems for diagnostic laboratories to improve turn-around-time and ensure greater safety/quality in the workplace. The inherent flexibility of their systems enables them to offer options from automating individual processes to solutions for total laboratory automation. The open design concept supports interfacing analyzers from different manufactures enabling labs to manage changing needs and increasing workloads

"Thermo’s Konelab system is used for highly sophisticated diagnostic environments in laboratories of all sizes for clinical chemistry analysis. The TCAutomation solution automates many manual laboratory procedures and its modularity gives the laboratory flexibility to scale automation according to changing needs. The new Konelab Arena platform is used for colorimetric analysis and quality control applied in wine, food and beverages and other industrial processes. Thermo Electron’s CC&A products are sold in over 60 countries with close to 3000 installedKonelab analyzers and TCAutomation systems."
